Valentine’s Day Coffee Cake: 7 Sweet Moments to Savor

Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a bowl, cream together the butter and sugar.
  3. Add eggs and vanilla, mixing well.
  4. In another bowl, combine flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon.
  5. Gradually add dry ingredients to the wet mixture, alternating with sour cream.
  6. In a small bowl, mix brown sugar and walnuts for the topping.
  7. Pour half of the batter into a greased baking pan.
  8. Sprinkle half of the brown sugar mixture over the batter.
  9. Add the remaining batter and top with the remaining brown sugar mixture.
  10. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.

Notes

  • Serve warm with coffee.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container.
