- 2 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 cup boiling water
- 1 cup butter, softened
- 4 cups powdered sugar
- ½ cup heavy cream
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- Fresh strawberries for decoration
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.
- In a large bowl, mix flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
- Add eggs, milk, oil, and vanilla. Beat for 2 minutes on medium speed.
- Stir in boiling water until well combined.
- Pour batter into prepared pans and bake for 30-35 minutes.
- Cool cakes in pans for 10 minutes, then remove to wire racks to cool completely.
- For frosting, beat butter until creamy, then gradually add powdered sugar and heavy cream.
- Frost the cooled cakes and stack them.
- Decorate with fresh strawberries.
Notes
- Use different food colorings for a colorful cake.
- Try adding raspberry jam between the layers for extra flavor.
- Chill the cake for a while before serving for better slicing.
