Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.
  3. In a large bowl, mix flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  4. Add eggs, milk, oil, and vanilla. Beat for 2 minutes on medium speed.
  5. Stir in boiling water until well combined.
  6. Pour batter into prepared pans and bake for 30-35 minutes.
  7. Cool cakes in pans for 10 minutes, then remove to wire racks to cool completely.
  8. For frosting, beat butter until creamy, then gradually add powdered sugar and heavy cream.
  9. Frost the cooled cakes and stack them.
  10. Decorate with fresh strawberries.
