Tiramisu Valentine’s Day: 4 Steps to Indulge Your Love

A classic Italian dessert perfect for Valentine’s Day.

Ingredients

  • 6 egg yolks
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 2/3 cup milk
  • 1 1/4 cups heavy cream
  • 8 ounces mascarpone cheese
  • 1 cup strong brewed coffee, cooled
  • 1/2 cup coffee liqueur
  • 24 ladyfingers
  • 1/4 cup cocoa powder

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, whisk egg yolks and sugar until pale.
  2. Heat milk in a saucepan and gradually add to the egg mixture, stirring constantly.
  3. Cook over low heat until thickened, then remove from heat.
  4. Let the mixture cool, then fold in mascarpone cheese.
  5. In another bowl, whip heavy cream until stiff peaks form and fold into the mascarpone mixture.
  6. Combine coffee and coffee liqueur in a shallow dish.
  7. Dip ladyfingers briefly in the coffee mixture and layer them in a dish.
  8. Spread half of the mascarpone mixture over the ladyfingers.
  9. Repeat layers, finishing with the mascarpone mixture.
  10. Chill for at least 4 hours or overnight.
  11. Dust with cocoa powder before serving.

Notes

  • For a non-alcoholic version, omit the coffee liqueur.
  • You can use decaffeinated coffee if preferred.
  • Adjust sugar according to your taste.
