Instructions

  3. Rub the mixture all over the prime rib.
  4. Place the roast in a roasting pan, bone side down.
  5. Roast in the oven for 20 minutes.
  6. Reduce the temperature to 325°F (163°C) and roast for an additional 1.5 to 2 hours.
  7. Check the internal temperature; it should reach 130°F (54°C) for medium-rare.
  8. Remove the roast from the oven and let it rest for 20 minutes before slicing.
