Ingredients

  • 500g prawns, peeled and deveined
  • 2 tablespoons oil
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 inch ginger, grated
  • 2 tomatoes, pureed
  • 1 tablespoon garam masala
  • 1 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 1 teaspoon cumin powder
  • 1 teaspoon coriander powder
  • 1 cup coconut milk
  • Salt to taste
  • Fresh coriander for garnish

Instructions

  1. Heat oil in a pan over medium heat.
  2. Add onions and sauté until golden brown.
  3. Stir in garlic and ginger; cook for 1 minute.
  4. Add pureed tomatoes and cook until oil separates.
  5. Add garam masala, turmeric, cumin, and coriander; mix well.
  6. Pour in coconut milk and bring to a simmer.
  7. Add prawns and cook until they turn pink.
  8. Season with salt and garnish with fresh coriander.
