Irresistible Kibbeh Traybake Feeds 6 Hungry Souls

A delicious Middle Eastern dish made with spiced ground meat and bulgur, baked to perfection.

Ingredients

  • 500g ground lamb or beef
  • 1 cup fine bulgur
  • 1 large onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp ground cumin
  • 1 tsp ground coriander
  • 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp ground allspice
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1/4 cup pine nuts (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F).
  2. Soak the bulgur in warm water for 10 minutes, then drain.
  3. Mix the ground meat, bulgur, onion, garlic, spices, salt, and pepper in a bowl.
  4. Press the mixture into a greased baking tray.
  5. Drizzle with olive oil and sprinkle pine nuts on top if using.
  6. Bake for 30-35 minutes until golden brown.
  7. Let it cool slightly before slicing and serving.

Notes

  • You can substitute ground lamb with beef or a mix of both.
  • For a crispier top, broil for the last 2-3 minutes.
  • Serve with yogurt or tahini sauce.
