fancy green beans holidays: 5 Reasons They Steal the Show

Ingredients

  • 1 pound fresh green beans
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup sliced almonds
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Trim the ends of the green beans.
  2. In a large pot, bring water to a boil and blanch the green beans for 3 minutes.
  3. Drain and immediately place in an ice bath to stop cooking.
  4. In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat.
  5. Add garlic and sauté for 1 minute.
  6. Add green beans and almonds, and toss to coat.
  7. Cook for 5-7 minutes until heated through.
  8. Sprinkle with Parmesan cheese, salt, and pepper before serving.

Notes

  • Best served warm.
  • Can be made ahead and reheated.
