Ingredients

  • 1 block firm tofu, pressed and cubed
  • 1/4 cup sesame seeds
  • 1/4 cup cornstarch
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1 tablespoon honey or maple syrup
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon ginger powder

Instructions

  1. Press and cube the tofu.
  2. In a bowl, mix soy sauce, honey, garlic powder, and ginger powder.
  3. Marinate the tofu in the mixture for 30 minutes.
  4. Coat each tofu piece in cornstarch, then roll in sesame seeds.
  5. Heat vegetable oil and sesame oil in a pan over medium heat.
  6. Fry the tofu until golden brown on all sides.
  7. Drain on paper towels and serve hot.

Notes

  • Use firm or extra-firm tofu for best results.
  • Adjust the sweetness by adding more or less honey/maple syrup.
  • Serve with rice or vegetables.
